West Virginia veterans to join emergency conservation work
Washington June 2 The Charleston regional office of the veterans administration will select World War I veterans in West Virginia for service in the emergency conservation work. Similar enrollments will be made at other regional offices nationwide. Endorsements from local citizens are required and veterans should await instructions while remaining in their communities to avoid overburdening relief agencies. Physical examinations will be arranged with the war department, with enrollments routed through Baltimore for southern West Virginia and Pittsburgh for northern areas. Enlisted veterans will count toward West Virginia's quota of 275000 for the conservation corps.
