Eleven Wives Ruin Don Juan's Purse in London Bankruptcy
London May 31 Eleven times married and owner of six thousand love letters George Gregory Leslie known as Don Juan is before a London bankruptcy court. A committee of Inspection appointed by the court is the first in this country to consist entirely of women, two of whom were Bigamously married to Leslie. Leslie serves a ten year sentence for bigamy and deception in Mexican marriages. The judge called his conduct a pattern of systematic rogue ry. The receiver says Leslie joined the army at 19, rose to top sergeant, then became a brewery traveler and later ran a mineral water business. He claims assets of fifty thousand dollars and liabilities of ninety seven thousand, but the receiver says assets are overstated. The committee of women is investigating.
