Misleading Promises In Prospectus Sparked By Stock Sale

Promoters warned buyers that investments were speculative and no guarantees existed while a wave of door to door solicitation drew purchases of hundreds of thousands in stock. New Kanawha shifted to its own securities division as its prospectus listed plans for an aluminum division near Beckley with plants in Cadalac and Fort Lauderdale and talks with large aluminum firms for siding and pallets.

Crash Survivor Has Sister Here

Mrs. Julian Campbell of 1320-B Summit Dr. says her Air Force brother Maj. Robert F. Cornell of Daleville Ala. survived a helicopter shoot down in South Viet Nam and is in good condition. He previously suffered a minor wound on May 22 over guerrilla territory.

County Girl, 13, Is Lost in Kanawha County

A 13-year-old Kanawha County girl, Molly Susan Lacy of Walnut Gap, disappeared Friday while picking apples near her home between Upper Elk and Dry Branch Drive. She was last seen with a sack headed to an orchard. the sack was found but she has not been heard from. The girl is described as a pretty blonde with blue eyes, fair complexion, of medium build, wearing orange slacks and a white blouse. Her disappearance is being investigated by city and county police.

Car Mishaps Injury in Loudendale Caseload

A 53 year old man, Archie L Hubbard of 1408 Quarrier St, was hurt in a car wreck outside Charleston and listed in satisfactory condition with chest and leg injuries. A 13 year old girl, Sandra Pickens, suffered a lacerated forehead and arm when she fell from a moving car and was treated at Charleston Memorial Hospital and released.

Miner Hurt At Eskdale Mine In Kanawha County

A Kanawha County miner sustained a hip injury Monday after being caught between a buggy and a post at Imperial Colliery Co. No. 11 in Eskdale. Carlos Fernatt, 36, of Pratt, was taken by Pryor ambulance to Charleston General Hospital for observation.
