Kiwanis urged to bar accidents on Kanawha river side
Joseph Schwabe of Charleston urged Kiwanis members to assist in reducing auto hazards on the south side of the Kanawha River. He highlighted the undergrade crossing near the Chesapeake and Ohio tracks at Ferry Branch and a derelict building west of the C and O station as threats. The club was asked to investigate improvements and funding, and to push the county to require railroad action or removal of the dilapidated walls. The meeting also covered Kiwanis convention reports and playground equipment concerns, with plans to study and report at the next gathering.
