The West Virginia Turnpike carried about 50,000 more vehicles in the first 11 months of 1974 than in 1973, yet revenue rose only slightly to 8,348,209. November traffic reached 271,704 vehicles, but revenue fell from 715,109.50 in November 1973 to that month’s total in 1974, with four to six axle trucks easing year over year.
Greenbrier Presbytery will install Dr. Allen Cowan as executive presbyter during a 10 a.m. service on January 11 at First Presbyterian Church in Charleston. Dr. L W Bottoms of Decatur Ga will preach the installation sermon as the two day meeting opens January 16. The presbytery, part of the Synod of Virginia, covers most of West Virginia.
Dedication services for the new Fairlea Church of God in Greenbrier County are set for January 12. Rev. Wade H. Horton, general overseer, will speak at the morning service, assisted by Rev. Paul J. Eure, overseer of Churches of God in West Virginia. The cedar building houses a sanctuary, nursery, fellowship hall, five Sunday School rooms, church office and pastor's study under Pastor Carl Waters.
