House Finance Panel Advances Hall of Fame Funding Bill
The House Finance Committee authorized its attorney to draft a bill appropriating 852 500 to the National Track and Field Hall of Fame. The one time grant would come from federal revenue sharing and be limited to Public Land Corporation ownership. Also sent to Senate were two supplemental bills: 21000 for Hopemont State Hospital fire alarms and 30000 for a Denmar State Hospital fire sprinkler waterline. A bill to exempt radio and television stations from the business and occupation tax was reported to the floor.

Henry Ford II Arrested on Drunken Driving Charge
Henry Ford II, 57, CEO of Ford Motor Co., was arrested in Goleta Santa Barbara County on drunken driving charges after allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road. He posted 375 dollars bail and is ordered to appear in Municipal Court March 7. Kathleen Duross, a Detroit photographer, was with him and not held.
