Services set at Emmanuel Baptist Church and Given EUB Church. burial at Sunset Memorial Park and Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Mrs Anna Laura Magy 76 died Sunday at a daughter’s home. A service will be held today at 11 a.m. in Bartlett mortuary chapel with Dr Alfred E Bennett officiating. The body will go to Paul Campbell mortuary in Abingdon Virginia for an 11 a.m. service tomorrow. Burial follows at Sinking Springs Cemetery in Abingdon.
Tuesday forecast calls for fair and mild conditions in Charleston and West Virginia with highs around 40 and lows near 34. Other areas report some clouds and continued mild temperatures with mostly sunny skies in parts of Virginia and western Pennsylvania.
Mrs Margaret Lyle MacCorkle age 78 widow of William G Mac Corkle died at her Spring Road South Hills home after a weeklong illness. She leaves two daughters Mrs I N Smith of Charleston and Mrs Harry St George Tucker Carmichael of Lexington two sons Sam L Mac Corkle Charleston attorney and Torquil MacCorkle of Lexington 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral at 11 am tomorrow at First Presbyterian Church chapel conducted by Dr W T Williams burial Spring Hill Cemetery. Body moved to home by Simpson Chandler mortuary.

Henderson obit reports Jerry Flint aged 100 died at his home after a three week illness. He was a retired farmer and Loggerhead Church member who lived most of his life in Mason County. Survived by seven daughters and three sons plus 64 grandchildren. Services planned at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crow Mortuary Chapel Pi Pleasant with burial at Loggerhead Cemetery.
Mrs Mary Isabelle Harless Kinder 91 dies at home Saturday. Service at 1 p.m. in Degnan mortuary chapel with Rev Allan Skeenes officiating. Burial in family cemetery at Brushton Boone County.
Senate rackets probers again failed to end the partisan split over who testifies first in the Kohler Co UAW violence inquiry. Democrats favor Walter Reuther or Herbert Kohler, Republicans want other witnesses first. Tomorrow’s closed session aims to decide procedure as 20 to 30 witnesses are expected to testify.
Manley V. Howard moves from District 3 at Parkersburg to District 9 at Lewisburg next Saturday. Patrick C. Graney states Howard, 53, will replace A. S. Turner who moves to commission headquarters. George R. Brooks will succeed Howard in Parkersburg.

A 76-year-old man Tivis Pennington and a 67-year-old woman Beatrice Jones were convicted on six months probation for shoplifting at the Sanctuary Market on Summers Street. Police said Jones took a pound of dried beans and a pound of coffee while Pennington took a half gallon milk and ready-to-bake biscuits. Both claimed they intended to pay or suffered memory blackouts.
Lynn Swiger of Hinton filed today for the Democratic nomination to the State Senate from the 10th District serving Mercer, Monroe, and Summers counties. He seeks the seat currently held by Senator Roy Parker of Union.
A Charleston man London McDuffey 33 of Wertz Avenue fired pistol shots into the side of a house in Charleston. He was subdued by police and booked on brandishing a deadly weapon disorderly conduct and drunkenness. A hearing is set tomorrow in City Police Court after Beatrice Green of 114 McKee Avenue reported shots through her wall.
