Westchester Pa February AP report says Alexander Meyer a 20 year old farmer admitted murder in the death of 16 year old Helen Meyer. He allegedly rammed the girl with his truck on a highway and then attacked her after placing her body in a truck. The nude body was found nine days later in a well on an abandoned farm near Downingtown. Police say dynamite used to conceal the crime blew rock and dirt around the well. The confession includes details of the attack and disposal of the body.

Renewed Si Strike Riots Feared
CHICAGO Feb 21 Fear of renewed violence in the sit down strike at the Fanstec Metallurgical Corporations North Chicago plant grew as the company again demanded forcible evacuation of workers. Clashes occurred when sheriff deputies attempted to drive sit-downers out with tear gas and were repulsed by missiles and nitric acid. Wives and children gathered around barricaded buildings surrounded by a high wire fence. Clothing, food and bedding were hauled into the plants by ropes as deputies patrolled without interference. Officials agreed to turn on water inside the plants but refused heat. Talks of a peace parley with Gov Henry Horner later collapsed when the company insisted on a forced departure. A court order demanding strikers quit the plants 3 and 5 was cited in calls to enforce the law.

Deluded trapper shoots friends in Blue Ridge home
Harrisburg dispatch reports Clair Wingert known as Huckleberry Fing sat in Dauphin jail after a gun attack at the McElwee residence in the Blue Ridge mountains. William McElwee died and Dorothy McElwee was seriously wounded as Wingert claimed friends injected poison in his toe.
