Trainman Held In Fatal Crash On Long Island
A Long Island Rail Road collision near Mineola killed 29 people and injured 105 as an eastbound train ran a red signal and struck a westbound train. Motorman Neck Keifer, 55, of Baldwin, was charged with second degree manslaughter. He allegedly passed two red signals before the crash. Keifer to be arraigned Monday. no action against the other motorman.

Six persons were injured yesterday in a head-on collision on U S Route 119 about one mile west of Charleston. Four injured were taken to Charleston General Hospital including Loten Good who is unconscious with possible skull fracture. Cats Good age 37 with severe head and body lacerations. Lorraine Good age 36 in fair condition and in shock. Ernie Good age 6 with head injuries and wrist fracture. Morgan Wilson, 46, from Big Chimney, in Staats Hospital with a long jaw laceration. Edward Baker, 32, also of Big Chimney, in Staats Hospital in satisfactory condition.
