Three Breakings Enterings Reported Over Weekend
Detectives reported three breaking and entering cases over the weekend. At 2182 Oak Ridge Drive the home of B L Rutledge, absent residents, lost 30 quarts of canned fruit preserves towels clothing four boxes of shotgun shells and three boxes of 22 caliber shells. E C Shafer Printing Co offices at 109 Court Street were ransacked with nothing missing. John Russo of Russo Produce Co 617 Summers Street reported a wrist watch and a green jacket stolen.

Two men in their 30s were hospitalized after a highway accident at midnight Sunday. Samuel Adkins, 32, of Rt 1 St. Albans, suffered fractures to left arm and leg and a head laceration. Bobby Kent, 30, of the same address, had a severe chin laceration and jaw fracture. He was moved from Thomas Memorial to Charleston General for plastic surgery.

Derailed Train Blast Burns 28 Children in North Dakota
