Carl Heideman a 25 year old miner from Ward was arraigned before Magistrate Edward Smith in Coast Grove for the fatal stabbing of Roscoe Lucas 24 of Ward. Heideman said he found Lucas with his wife and admitted stabbing him with a pocketknife after warnings. Lucas died near Hamilton home after being shot or stabbed. coroner Dr W F Work said the blade pierced the heart. Heideman claimed Lucas struck at him as he entered, and he confessed.
