Paralyzed Man Rescued In Lattes Fire
Two boys Eugene Morris and Bobby Morris carried the bedfast 71 year old John Morris from a four room bungalow in Lattes across the river from St. Albans as flames engulfed the home. Lt Clyde Green of the St Albans fire department credited the youths with saving John Morris who is paralyzed for seven years. The home and contents valued at 5000 were destroyed and neighbors housed the family. The blaze likely started when a curtain blew into the kitchen stove. Fire units from St Albans and Nitro responded.
