Fifty defendants including forty nine men and one woman faced federal lottery charges in Albany New York. U S Attorney described the eight state ring as the largest organized lottery syndicate in the east. Pleas were to be heard on one conspiracy count and 75 interstate shipment counts. Eleven defendants sought immediate pleas while eight denied the charges and three pleaded guilty to two counts. Remaining 39 defendants were to be advised further.
