Dunn on Trial for Laidley Death in Monroe County

Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Broad and Lee Streets
A pedestrian from a prominent city family was killed at the Broad and Lee intersection when a car driven by Dunn struck her. Witness Leon Emigh of American Railway Express said Lee street traffic light was green for pedestrians, the auto appeared dark without lights traveling east on Lee at about 40 to 45 miles per hour, and he was first to reach the victim.

To Hold Brooks Funeral Today
Funeral services for Walter B. Brooks of 118 Quarrier street, who died Monday, will be held at First Presbyterian church at two this afternoon. The Masons and Knights Templar will conduct the rites with Dr. Ernest Thompson and Dr. Frank C. Brown assisting. Interment is at Spring Hill cemetery with Kanawha lodge No. 20 Masons as active pallbearers and Judge Andrew Alexander among honorary pallbearers.
