MONTGOMERY The director of the West Virginia Department of Mines will speak at 8 p m February 13 at West Virginia Tech Engineering Building. Joh Ashcraft will discuss joint government industry efforts in addressing mining disasters. The November 20 1968 Consol No 9 mine explosion at Farmington will be the lecture topic with slides.

Huntington woman Lucinda Lee Sedinger 29 waived removal proceedings and was remanded to Cabell County Jail on $50,000 bond awaiting transfer to Richmond Virginia to face charges for an armed hold up at the Bank of Southside Virginia in Jarratt. She allegedly provided a getaway car for three men, who robbed the bank of about $30,000.
