The court denied a motion in a one minute session. Superior Judge Herbert V. Walker ruled the motion irrelevant to proceedings and lacking merit. Adjournment followed as jury selection and related testimony began.

Police hold 3-year old Hernshaw man William Terre Greenwood on charges of defrauding an innkeeper and obtaining merchandise with false credit. He allegedly racked up $164.70 at Holiday Inn No. 1 on January 31 and $71.69 in goods from Edgewood Texaco Station on February 1. Bond set at $300.
In Coram eto Cahf Coronado Harris testified that smoke and disarray followed the Pueblo surrender after North Korean sub chasers and torpedo boats attacked. Murphy said had he commanded the ship actions would have been similar, noting the crew was outgunned and slow to react while the ship faced harassment escalating to boarding attempts.

A seven year old girl was shot in the hip during an early morning incident when a bullet came from an upstairs apartment. Cynthia Miller, daughter of Mrs. Ruby Miller, was treated at Charleston General Hospital and remains in satisfactory condition. Walter Lee Harris, 26, was arrested and charged with felonious assault and felonious shooting. Harris allegedly fired into the floor after entering the upstairs apartment occupied by Doretha Ann Foster. The girl’s sister Velma confronted Harris and cut him, leading to his arrest.
