New School Construction Plan Okayed for Kanawha County
Kanawha County board approves a long range plan for building needs. Officials project about 2 million dollars next year for facilities and hire a director of school plant planning to manage expansion. The board also votes to close Lincoln Elementary, reassign students to other West Side schools, and move Lincoln Junior High into the vacated building to free space for over 1,100 students. Other actions include bidding for 13 new buses and AV equipment at George Washington High, a trip for Du Pont seniors, and denying a request to release student lists for vision testing.
