Gene Clinton Taylor of Inez Kentucky was ordered to a six day psychiatric study before trial on wire fraud after pleading not guilty.
Preliminary hearing for Ira D. Snyder 50 of Belle is set for 2 p m Monday on a charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. Detectives say Snyder negotiated a Dec 2 contract with Darius Drennen of Cart Street to receive photographs from a local studio and three other items. A later claim by Mrs. Daugherty said she gave 4980 to obtain a car to attend a Chicago convention and 4000 more to pay gambling debts. a man identified as Richard Allen was to pick up the money.
Investigators in New York collect photos from present and former aides to Hughes to identify a supposed mystery figure. They aim to test Clifford Irving’s claim that a man named George Gordon Holmes helped assemble the autobiography. Meier denies any connection to Irving.
