Washington December 30 INS A State Department official who worked on the Marshall plan is named as a wheat speculator in a new trader list released by Agriculture Secretary Anderson. Paul F McGuire an associate division chief in financial and development policy held a short position of 10000 bushels on Feb 28 1947. He was the only federal official among 3181 names. McGuire said his trading spanned years and denied using nonpublic information. He stated he had nothing to do with Marshall program policy or estimates of needed commodities. He questioned the 10000 bushel figure and suggested 5000 might be correct. Congressional committees plan subpoenas to examine commodity trading by government insiders including Brig Graham revealed as a trader in the third list. Investigations are led by a House committee and a Senate subcommittee and will review many months. McGuire earlier provided a statement to a congressional committee regarding government personnel speculating in commodities.

Eleven Badmen Break Colorado Prison in Canon City
