William Stone 22 of Hoomar was in serious condition after a collision on U.S. Route 60 at Cannellion. He rode in a car driven by Freddie Brooks 20 of Boomer, which rear ended a one ton truck driven by Frank C. Moon 28 of Indianapolis. Moon’s truck was en route from Virginia to Indianapolis. Stone remained unconscious at Laird Memorial Hospital. Orlend Truman 24 of 115 Garrison Ave. was admitted to McMillan with lacerations a fractured hip and possible leg fracture described as fair. Another accident near Charlestown left the car sideswiped by another vehicle. Five people were injured when a car left U.S. Route 60 near Ansted, Fayette County and overturned three times. Driver Delphard Daniels 27 of Fayetteville NC suffered bruises and cuts. He received emergency care at Charleston General Hospital.
