Longview Texas reports a surgeon, Dr Frank Sainburg, accused of kidnapping his son Philip 11 from Ithaca New York and abducting Mary Jean Nance, his wife’s daughter, fleeing to New Mexico. Authorities track him from Hobbs North Carolina to West Texas and beyond. Pilot Uses State Pike Emergency Landing Near Memorial Tunnel

Crescent Train Slams Auto. Six Die Near Greenville

A Crescent passenger train struck an automobile at a grade crossing near Greenville South Carolina at dusk killing six people and injuring a child critically. Engineer J F London said the northbound train traveled about 75 mph dragging the car for about a half mile. The victims include James F Brooks 37 and his wife Louise 26 Holland Benny Sutton 24 and his wife Rosa Lee 23 and their daughter Wanda 8 all of Greenville. The sixth victim remained unidentified. The car reportedly belonged to Brooks and Mrs Brooks was driving. The train had left Greenville minutes earlier.
