Prohibition Agents Report July Moonshine Busts Across Counties

Enforcement agents seized 41 stills and 11 autos in July, arresting 205 people. Logan led with seven stills seized and Wood county reporting 172 arrests. Mingo and others saw multiple actions. Large quantities of whiskey, wine, mash and home brew were destroyed. several defendants faced hearings or U.S. court actions.

Edward Kremer’s Body Found in Neighbor’s Cistern

The seven year old Edward Kremer disappeared two weeks ago from Pittsburgh. His body was found today in an unused cistern on a neighbor’s property with head bruises. Detectives are exploring foul play as Mrs Kremer identified the body and a coroner’s inquest is expected.
