Boy, 19 Amputates Own Foot After Fall
A 19 year old boy fell from a freight train near Vermillion Ohio and amputated his crushed foot with a penknife after applying a tourniquet from his clothes. He crawled with a makeshift crook along the track for about three quarters of a mile before being found by a train crew. Doctors later removed the leg below the knee at St Josephs hospital.

Parkway Bond Issue Set For Sept 6 Vote
Charleston council set a 325000 bond issue for Sept 6 to extend the Kanawha Parkway to city limits.
