The article discusses widespread timberland hunting without written permission, noting that because many tracts lack fences and belong to different owners, surveying every parcel would be needed to avoid trespass. It highlights that landowners in Webster Pocahontas and Greenbrier counties resist issuing written permissions and favors fencing and stricter license requirements to fund game and fish protection.
