John Barlow Funeral Director Dies After Illness
John Barlow 58 mortician and owner of the Barlow funeral home in Kanawha Street died yesterday morning at six at his Chester Road home after a year long illness. Born Charleston March 6 1877 he was the son of George T and Mary E Barlow who started the family funeral business in 87 on Kanawha Street. He managed the business from age 23, moved to Virginia Street in 1903, and the firm was established at Brooks and Virginia in 1933.
