Woman Helps Solve 9 Area Burglaries
Mrs. Willie Morris of St. Albans aided West Virginia police in cracking nine burglaries and an armed robbery. Manuel Howard Lynch of St. Albans confessed to eight burglaries and the raid at Club 33. Accomplices Reginald Garfield Close and Curtis Melvin Burks of South Charleston were arrested. all face grand jury action under bonds.

Coal Operators Protest Lack of Protection in West Virginia
Fourteen non union coal firms across Barbour and Taylor counties protest what they call lax law enforcement. They accuse disgruntled ex workers paid by the United Mine Workers of America of blocking mining, threatening workers, and damaging property through dynamiting. They filed telegrams to Gov. Underwood and State Police Supt. Hazen Fair claiming no arrests or persistent investigation. Cecil J. Urbaniak denies UMW payroll involvement for pickets and says only a district representative and four international reps are on the payroll.

Whisky Seizure Rocks Fayette Club Raid
State police seized 40 to 50 fifths of whisky three slot machines and a blackjack table in a Fayette Owl's Club raid late Tuesday night. Proprietor Johnny Fragale 46 and two female workers face charges of illegal whisky sale and gambling device possession. They will be arraigned before Justice Lawrence Atha on Saturday.
