Prince Ghika’s Italian chauffeur tried to kill the prince and princess by driving a car off a 100 foot precipice near Bucharest. The prince overpowered the chauffeur, steering the car into a rock to avert the plunge, killing the chauffeur and saving the princess who survived. The couple were returned to Bucharest for care.
Italian fishermen Nicolai Stotero and Giuseppi Cassanelli faced hours of terror as a huge sea lion maimed their net and towed their boat toward open sea. The creature weighed about 800 pounds and measured nearly fifteen feet, finally surfacing as the tide carried them back to shore where the animal was captured.
Samuel Castallna of South Vineland New Jersey keeps a rooster and his two friends a son aged eighteen months and another boy five years old. The boy and the rooster are described as inseparable companions and a cousin named Jon also appears in the scene.
