George James ice cream sold by J C West fall restaurant. Several residents visit Chariton Des Moines and Ottumwa. The district plans a grand Fourth of July celebration as harvest nears with weather hopes and school openings.
Mrs. Anna L. Foulks of Chicago visited the G. E. Sharpe home east of town. Mrs. B. W. Stokesbury of Liberty Center stayed with Lacona relatives. Moody Krell of Indianola visited Lacona last Tuesday. Mr. J Hicks of Pleasantville and Dick Fuller injured a finger unloading freight. John Watkins hurt by slate fall at No. 4 mine. D. L. Nitchman returned from Chillicothe Mo. Dr. C. H. DeWitt of Lucas spent Sunday with friends here. Miss Hilda Anderson left for Shawnee O. T. last Monday. Sam Irwin has been working on the move.

The Q depot was broken into Tuesday night and two small cases of whiskey stolen. No clue to the parties. Mr. and Mrs. John Steck returned from Moulton and have gone to housekeeping. John Childs came back from Coatsville Missouri where he was located for a year. R. R. Fogg and family left for Boulder Colorado to make their home. Daisy Allender accompanied them. Dr. and Mrs. Sutton moved to Chariton. P. H. Steck hosts visits from relatives in Indiana. Robbie Harding of Deadwood South Dakota is in town with friends. Charles Craskey visits Kellerton after the Fourth. Lloyd Allen returns to Chicago to finish medical studies. Miss Iva Logan graduated last Saturday from Ottumwa Conservatory of Music. M. The P. H. Shull sale on Saturday met good prices with happy buyers amid inclement weather. J. T. Hollingshead and A. Hixon families visited, and Al Jenkins of Russell bought stock. Brown School wrapped up with a large dinner and program, while rain Sunday damaged oats.

The ad also promotes Dr Davidson's dental services with painless extraction methods and guaranteed fit.
The document bears the court seal and the clerk's signature E. J. Wells on the first day of July, 1902, confirming official action.
Notice in Lucas County Iowa District Court in Vacation that an instrument claimed as the last will and testament of Sarah W. Wells deceased was produced opened and read. Hearing proof fixed for September 23 1902 before the court cure with clerk E S Wells dated June 25 1902.
