Hold-up Men Get Five Years
Dave Soderstrom Billy Mullen Jr. and Sam Stull were convicted last week of assaulting and robbing E. J. Wyman of Burlington. Judge Eichelberger sentenced each to five years at hard labor in the State prison at Ft. Madison. A motion for a new trial was overruled after lengthy arguments.

Legless Policeman Still Serves in New York Region
Charles Dalrymple, a legless officer with 18 years of service in New York and Pennsylvania, earned a strong reputation by arresting criminals and never allowing escape. He lost both feet in 1865 while dismounting a moving train and now travels on his knees, remaining constable of Frersburg, Pa., and active in duties, farming, and horse riding. He is married with children and adopted two others, praised as honest and upright.

Miner Caught Under Slate in Big Hill Shaft Narrow Escape
