It touts Ec-zine as a universal skin healer, plus Ec-zine Skin Soap and antiseptic shaving soap, claiming germ disease cures and velvet-soft skin with guaranteed results. The publisher endorses the product’s reliability and invites readers to write for samples.
Patrol reports a turquoise enamel open face ladies watch left at the Patriot office last Monday night. A finder is asked to leave it there for pickup.
Miss Cora Merrill of Creston returns home after visiting Mrs. Fred Blanchard. Dozens of relatives and friends from Albia Ottumwa Lacona Indianola Des Moines and Creston are noted visiting or visiting with local residents. A funeral attendance and church society meeting are mentioned with several short travels and health notes.
Funeral for Mrs. Martha E. Thomas of Russell was held Sunday at the Christian church with Rev. Emmons of Albia officiating. She leaves six children and is mourned as a gentle mother by many in the Russell area.
In Cedar Grove the Bethel church meetings continue with notable participation. The Sunday service reports several conversions and six accessions to the church. Mr. Casebolt and wife visited their daughter Mrs Nathan Swader on Sunday.
Rev Yaggy delivered a moving sermon on I Shall be Satisfied When I Awake With Thy Likeness at Sundays service. Roy Colar and wife returned to Slater Missouri after visiting friends. A baby boy was born to James Drake and wife last Thursday morning. CO E Hixson and Floyd visited H S Hixson of Monroe county Sunday. Rev Wendell from Toledo assisting in revival returned home recently. Ed Wishart and family visited O B Shane Sunday evening. The telephone company held a meeting Monday at noon and conducted business. A group of boys sawed a nice pile of wood for Isaac Etter Friday.
Miss Ida Long lost her watch on the way to school last Tuesday and has not recovered it. Bessie Elrod of Chariton spent part of last week at the Brownfield home. Rev. Barren spoke at the Christian church and plans a lecture there on Saturday evening February 11 with invitations extended. The Patriot offers clubbing rates to save subscribers money on periodicals. The Foot child was seriously ill last week needing a physician. Elmer Moon moves to Columbia to run a hotel purchased from Bingaman. Mrs. L. A. Byers visited Lacona with friends. Mrs. David Bell of Kansas visits her sister Mrs. Albert Wiren. W. A. Whitlatch remains ill. May and Bonnie Mc Corkle and Velma Pilkington visited H. C. Miller. Elmer Moon and wife welcomed a son last Friday. B. A. Kenney sold part of his merchandise stock last Saturday. Streed of Charity acted as auctioneer. Ton Lenig attended a wedding in Garden Grove last Saturday.
