B R Plotts attended a Des Moines banquet honoring the NY Equitable Life vice president, among about 150 company reps. Rev Willis Graves visited Chariton with his mother and was assigned as pastor of First M E in Council Bluffs, a promotion his friends approve.

John Wishart left Pleasant township and the city for Wells Tannery Pennsylvania. Dennis Freet, conductor on the south branch passenger, remains seriously ill at home. S B Ralston fills his place and Willis Young conducts the north branch. A funeral procession near accident: one carriage team became unruly spooking the ladies who leaped out. no injuries beyond fright and a nervous shock.
