Lucas County Board Grants Several County Requests in 1886 Meeting

The Lucas County Iowa Board of Supervisors met September 1886 with members Baker Shular and Williams. The session granted the Cedar township highway consent, refunded $1.99 in taxes to Wm Keyser, cancelled 1885 taxes on Elizabeth Reed's homestead, and referred bridge petitions in Jackson and Pleasant townships to committees. They ordered a 1886 tax levy across state, county, school, bridge, poor and insane funds, plus a dog tax. The board adjourned to resume next morning and later handled rehearings on Throckmorton assessment, highway changes, and a Liberty township bridge petition.
