Assault charge against Onawa farmer on his daughter

Charles Wray a farmer near Hlercoe was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Anthony and brought before Justice C M Ross on a charge of assault on his 14 year old daughter. A change of venue was taken to Thes E Brown of Blencoe with the case set for next Tuesday. Wray divorced from his wife and was previously indicted for an assault on her but the indictment was quashed.

Mason City reports the Linhoff murder case adjourned for the day after ten hours on the stand. Former police captain fined and jailed for bribe

Edward Anderson, once captain of police in Siox City, was fined $500 and given six months in jail for taking a bribe from slot machine operator J. H Bigelow. The judge said the sentence was the law’s limit. Corydon: M Nelson, an ice dealer, died while hunting rabbits. his body was found about noon west of town. Police believe accidental discharge caused his death.
