Khrushchev Urges UN To End Cold War Tensions
Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev addressed the United Nations General Assembly urging a revival of realism and a push to dissolve Cold War tensions. Three-Year Sentence For Manslaughter In Wichita
Herman Townes, 35, was sentenced to one to three years in the Kansas Penitentiary for the slaying of Leon S. Broomfield, 21, in a fight outside a Wichita tavern on May 10. A jury convicted Townes of third degree manslaughter after the state sought first degree murder. Townes claimed self defense.
