Hurricane Debbie to be seeded if storm nears range

Weather bureau researchers expect to seed tropical storm Debbie with silver iodide next week if the disturbance comes within range. Debbie has winds up to 70 mph near the center and lies roughly 3,000 miles east southeast of Miami moving west at about 14 mph.

Pilotless CAP plane runs two hour test flight goes haywire

Burlington Iowa faced a scare as a Civil Air Patrol plane without a pilot circled the city for an hour, then climbed and ran out of gas. It crashed in a bean field near Aledo Illinois after the engine surged. The pilot, Doren Bumgardner, escaped with a scraped side and was hospitalized.

Injuries Fatal To Wichita Girl

Eighteen-year-old Ann Myrleen Lynam of Wichita died from injuries suffered Friday in a Kansas Turnpike collision near the city. She was ejected from a car driven by Charles A. Meads, 20, also of Wichita, when struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Elmer Griffin, 26, of El Dorado.

After the ceremony they plan a move to a larger home with three more bedrooms and two additional bathrooms. The families will honeymoon while relatives stay with the children at the $22 000 house. The bride and groom met after the jet bomber crash that killed her husband and the Beardsleys have organized their blended family, including 18 children ages 18 months to 17 years, around Carmel Mission school. The groom receives 730 dollars monthly and the bride 470 from service indemnity and Social Security.

Attempt On De Gaulle Ends In Fire On Road

Paris official sources say President De Gaulle escaped harm after a bizarre attack on a country road. A wall of flame ignited an inflammable mixture as the presidential car passed, but the eight pound plastic bomb failed to detonate. De Gaulle called it a joke in bad taste and shrugged off the incident.
