Frisco freight cars derail and ignite near Norwood Missouri
About 20 Frisco freight cars derailed east of Norwood Missouri igniting in a heap. No injuries reported by a spokesman in Springfield. The through freight from Kansas City to Memphis derailed amid knocked down lines, dragging down telephone and telegraph wires. Several loaded hoppers of potash and two gasoline tanks were involved. A two year old girl, Betty J. Ward of Wichita, died in a city hospital four hours after she was struck by a car on a Wichita street. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Irvin K Ward. The AP report notes the fatal pedestrian accident occurred last night.

Wire in Forehead Kills 4-Year-Old During Lawn Work
In Evanston Illinois a copper wire hidden in a lawn was projected by a rotary mower eight inches and pierced the forehead of four year old Timothy Forkins. Couple captured after Greybull police shooting
A sheriff s posse seized Robert Ross Miller and a woman after an all night manhunt in the Greybull area. Police officer Glen Coxen was shot in the face and rushed to Billings for treatment. Coxen and Sheriff Lovell Brinkerhoff led the pursuit which ended when the couple surrendered at a farm west of Greybull. The man held a California license in the name J Nelson Stevens and the woman was jailed at Basin awaiting identification.

Lightning Strikes Barn Fire Near Ridge Store

Rock Slide Kills Fredonia Worker at Cement Plant
