Policeman injured in fight over speeding ticket in Chanute
Chanute officer Vernon Shultz was clocking 41 mph in a 30 mph zone on North Santa Fe when George Norris 46 of 417 W 4th pulled into the old Dairy Queen. Norris assaulted Shultz. Norris was questioned then released on 2500 cash bond with aggravated battery charges pending. Shultz received treatment and was released from Neosho Memorial Hospital.
