Marcy an 18 year old freshman at Lamar Junior College was fatally shot in the head by a revolver held by fellow student Martin Frank 20 of Chicago The incident occurred after Frank and Gene Pickle went to Marcy s room to borrow money Frank loaded the revolver three or four times on the way to Marcy s room then fired the pistol playfully striking Marcy who died three hours later at Sacred Heart Hospital The gun was under a holster in Marcy s car and Frank was jailed overnight though no charges were filed The victims parents Mr and Mrs Willis H Marcy of Scotia arrived as he died

$20 Missing From Sherman Office Heist
Thieves forced a desk door at the First National Bank Building to steal about $20 from the office of John N. Sherman Jr. on the second floor. The same floor’s Joe Slyker insurance office was entered but nothing was taken. Police continued the investigation. Pvt. Rennie L. Robertson, son of Mr and Mrs Lowell G Robertson, completed phase two of a six month tour at Fort Eustis Virginia Oct 25 after basic training at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. He is a Parsons Junior College graduate this year.
