A new Senior High School and Junior College overflow lot east of the Senior Trade School adds capacity for about 50 cars with no reserved spaces. It will be used for overflow and also available to St. Patrick's church on Sundays or when not needed by the schools. Football player David Fehr of Blue Comet was released from the hospital after a possible spinal injury and will be examined again Thursday. Senior Lineman Wayne Brandon suffered a severely sprained ankle likely sidelining him this week.

Two Illinois Officers Wounded in Gun Battle
State police said Officers Glenn Nichols and Robert Golightly were wounded during a pursuit of a Joliet traffic violator. Two suspects Arvid Jopp and William G. Wilfong were captured after a gunfight near a Lincoln service station. Nichols is in serious condition, Golightly treated for a broken leg.
