Disabled American Veterans in Chanute will distribute blue forget-me-nots in the business district Saturday with Girl Scout help to raise funds for veterans with service connected disabilities and their families. Chanute bands and drum corps have a busy weekend with performances at a football game in Royster stadium and a Pittsburg State Washburn game parade. An average of 25 farmers receive live stock water daily from a shallow well owned by Mid-America Refining Co. east of the refinery, supplying boiler and cooling water and noted as a rare local aquifer.

Two Youths Captured After Lebo Robbery
Police report two 16 year old Kansas City youths robbed a Lebo filling station of 123 dollars early today and were captured 25 minutes later in Emporia after abandoning a stolen car. Authorities identified them as Gary Paul Phillips and Lewis James Richards and said they were armed with a shotgun.

Parr and Hoffman of Leavenworth submitted a low bid of 96 445 for the Kansas National Guard armory in Topeka. State and federal funds would cover 46 445 of the cost, with the project on a site near the east Santa Fe Park. The facility, costing about 95 000 in 1955, will include a 10 000 square foot floor area, 1 000 seat assembly hall, garage for heavy weapons, kitchen, offices, vaults, and rest rooms, with outer brick walls.
