Two non injury motor vehicle accidents were investigated Saturday night. John E. Kuffler’s car at Owl Drive In Cafe lot sustained left rear fender damage after a collision with a car driven from the lot by Clifford M. Piatt. Piatt’s car was undamaged. At 9 E Elm, Joseph Merriman’s car received left fender and skirt damage after a collision with a car backing from a curb parking driven by Donald E. Briggs. Briggs’ car was undamaged.

Explosion Fatal at Oil Well Near Wellington
Leon Payne 32 of Great Bend died from injuries after an explosion and fire at an oil well four miles north of Wellington on Saturday night. Fellow worker Wilbur J. Haggerty 63 of Great Bend was reported in serious condition with second and third degree burns at St Luke's hospital. Payne is survived by his wife and three children. Teen Ager Dies in Hunting Accident near Satanta
Floyd H. Fillpot bought a new rifle and hunted with his two teenage sons at a lake twenty miles west of Satanta Kansas. The rifle discharged accidentally fatally wounding his son Charles Ray Fillpot aged 16. The tragedy prompted investigation by local authorities.
Train derailment on Lincoln Park minature railway in Oklahoma City
