North Vietnam is building two coastal pipelines to China to speed oil supply. U S analysts say the lines could be finished by early November. earlier a twin line existed from Hanoi to China. U S warplanes have hit pumping stations and storage depots as the pipeline grows from Han Gai toward South China ports.
Foreman Leo Wallace of Rhoades Construction Co says work on the Chanute US 169 overpass began in August. The first phase should finish in about two weeks with traffic diverted to the east side. full completion expected before December 1 if weather holds. The project costs see$65,000 funded by state and federal governments.
