Registration steps outlined for Neosho County voters
Neosho County residents must register by 9 p.m. October 12 to vote in the general election. Registration books close at 9 p.m. October 12 and reopen the day after Election Day. New or re registrations can be done in Erie at the county clerk or in Chanute at the Memorial Building, with hours 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily except weekends. To register one must be a US citizen, Kansas resident 20 days prior, and 18 or older. Changes of name or address require re registration. Foreign birth requires naturalization papers. Registration by mail is possible via Chanute or Erie offices.
