York Sentence Is Three to Five Years for Manslaughter

Bloodhounds Find Lost 12 Year Old Boy in Swamp
In Wenham Massachusetts bloodhounds recovered Bruce Knowlton a 12 year old boy who had wandered into swamp woodlands late Monday while testing a shotgun given him as a birthday present. He was found in pretty fair shape despite near freezing conditions and was turned over to local authorities.

Two Youths Hurt In City Car Crashes In Late Night Incidents
Wayne Morris 16 of LaHarpe suffered a head injury after falling from a moving 1952 Ford in the 1100 block of North Grant. Vivian Sloan 18 of Lola faces reckless driving charges as a passenger and two other teens were in the car. In a separate crash, Enos Perez Jr. of Humboldt, with a broken leg, survived a collision on a rural road after striking a bridge four and a half miles west of Humboldt, and was treated at Neosho Memorial Hospital.

Resolution seeks 44 million for Redmond dam project
Neosho-Cottonwood Flood Control and Water Conservation Assn adopted a resolution at its annual meeting here urging a next year appropriation of 44 million to continue construction of the John Redmond dam. The group also asked for planning and construction funds for other federal dams in the Neosho-Cottonwood basin. Preliminary work has begun on the Redmond reservoir above Burlington. A July groundbreaking was held in Burlington. City officials and association leaders attended. A Topeka hearing by the U S Senate committee on water management is set for Nov 18, with Kansas officials preparing testimonies reflecting a statewide stake in the national water program.

Subzero outage tests Worthington, aids flow in minutes
After an explosion knocked out power in Worthington Minnesota, 9500 residents received rapid aid. Portable generators were rushed from neighboring towns to nursing homes schools and even a greenhouse.
