Education Group A Meeting Set By Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce education committee will meet at 4 p m tomorrow at the board of education office on South Evergreen. Buford Fisher chairs the session to discuss Business Education Day state survey results education legislation and ties to next year’s centennial observance. A prowler was reported in the northeast town area Monday night and a resident said someone burned nearly a full tank of gasoline in a car near the owner’s house.

Armistice Day Holiday Observed With Parades and Events
Armistice Day will be observed Friday with city county and state offices closed and schools dismissed. The 10 AM parade, sponsored by the American Legion and VFW, features Senior and Junior High bands, a Chanute National Guard color guard, and a car corps. Also planned are the 28th annual Iola Veterans Day parade at 1 PM and a Chanute football game at 3:30 PM, plus a coronation dance and flag ceremony at the high school hall.
