Car Pickup Collision At Elm and Grant Morning
Police investigated a two vehicle collision at Elm and Grant around 9 20 a m today involving a 1952 GMC pickup driven by Dale Stemple 39 and a 1962 Chevrolet driven by Clarence Foose 66 both from Fort Scott. Foose was cited for failing to yield right of way and posted 10 bond. Minor damage reported with estimated totals above 100 dollars. A second minor accident was reported at 3rd and Steuben with slight damage to one vehicle and none to the other.

In Coffeyville Kansas a 79 year old man W Blanton and his 42 year old son in law Arthur Flesher were found shot in their shared home. Dr C E Gollier ruled murder and death by own action. Flesher died from two shotgun blasts. Blanton from a single bullet in the right ear. A .22 pistol was in Blanton's hand. Police Chief Harold Soles said Blanton apparently killed Flesher then shot himself. No definite motive yet. there had been trouble between the men. Flesher managed a paint company store. Blanton was a retired real estate broker.
