Mrs. Harry Blue 31 a wife of an Air Force sergeant described as distraught over her husband's upcoming overseas assignment shot and killed two of her three children in Biloxi Mississippi. Police booked her for murder as neighbors said the mother was distressed by her husband’s tour abroad. The victims were Harry Norman 10 and Gwendolyn Earle. Blue's home is listed as Atlanta with origins in Houston.

Blast at Olin Mathieson dynamite plant injures workers
An explosion at the Olin Mathieson dynamite division near Orndill Illinois rattled windows and prompted ambulances and fire crews. Hospitals were alerted as injuries were reported. the plant leases land from the army and also runs a rocket fuel facility nearby.

Eighteen Apply for Farm Census Jobs in County
Eighteen applicants were interviewed and tested at the Memorial building by Orval Cox, crew leader from Fredonia, for agricultural census work in Wilson County and the west half of Neosho County. Seven top scorers will be chosen this week to serve three to four weeks starting after a three day school on November 11. Each chosen census taker will cover a township in Neosho County, preferably one where they reside. The census, taken every five years, gathers farm operation and livestock data.

Two Neo Sho County youths admit area break ins
Sheriff Jerry Sloan reports two youths Carl Leroy Cox 18 Stark and James Francis Shoemaker 17 Lavon burg confessed to several break ins and thefts. They were taken into custody south of Wichita and released to Sedgwick County jail. Noted crimes include a Joe Smith filling station burglary in St Paul with 130 to 140 dollars stolen and a Elsmore general store theft of clothing cigarettes lighters and fluid. Boy Scouts Sell Camp Cauble Site
The Sedan Area Council announced the sale of Camp Cauble a 73 acre Boy Scout camp three miles east of Benedict to Mr and Mrs Dewey Glasgow of Fredonia for an undisclosed price.
