The Tribune adds three summer interns to its staff. Liz Leech 22 of Oskaloosa is a news department intern set to graduate from Kansas University with a journalism degree. Rob Johnson 19 of Chanute High School alumnus returns in darkroom and plans photojournalism studies. Dave Harris 22 of Pittsburg State University is an advertising intern and former Collegio salesman.

San Francisco Insurance Man Makes Double Memorial Day Swim
Frank Coughlan, a 53 year old San Francisco insurer, swam the Verrazano Narrows from Staten Island to Brooklyn in 4% minutes then flew west to swim two miles under the Golden Gate Bridge in 55 minutes. He said the aim was simply to do both swims in one day. His wife Carmel celebrated with champagne as she waited at Fort Point.
