She stated the lone officer on duty drove away just as the bus arrived and she waited 8 to 10 minutes at the terminal before leaving. The hearing seeks a U.S. court injunction to protect interstate bus passengers in Montgomery and Birmingham and to decide whether to keep a temporary injunction against the Ku Klux Klan.

The burned body of 47 year old Mrs Barbara Brungardt was found Sunday in a trash barrel at her Salina area farm home. Coroner James Geisendorf said her husband E C Brungardt found the body when he returned from a night shift at a Salina bakery.
