In Bridgeton Missouri Municipal Judge Thomas Motherway dismissed 192 speeding cases Monday night as defendants were summoned en masse. Fifteen processed defendants received refunds of 10 to 15 dollar fines and were allowed to go home after the judge criticized the chaotic showing. The radar tickets were issued at 12 checkpoints over the prior two weeks.
The Albert Parvin Foundation run by Supreme Court Justice William O Douglas sold its stake in a firm owning three Las Vegas casinos for about 2 million dollars in early March. The move follows earlier comments calling the stock an irrevocable gift and raises questions about his salary and ties to gambling properties.
